Everybody's body reacts differently to certain foods so the best thing to do would be to experiment and find what works for you... Most people will tell you to avoid eating anything within 2 hours of class, however there have been times that I've eaten 30 minutes before class and I felt great, I think it really just depends what you eat and how much...
I usually have a protein shake with oatmeal, milk, and a banana about 2 hours before class and it's been a staple in my diet unto this point, never puked from it, never got bloated/gas. Being well hydrated throughout the entire day is also important... make sure you're drinking at least 2-3 litres of water throughout the day, some would even recommend more.
All that being said, I would reccomend something high in carbs with some protein about 2 hours before class(make sure it's clean, no junk, high sugar garbage), and during the workout sip on something with glucose to keep your blood sugar levels at a good level(low glucose levels in the blood is one of the main causes of naseau/puking during a workout). |

| I suggest you eat a bowl of oatmeal 1 hour before class. Instant Oatmeal is fine and a very clean carb. |

| A while back BAMA hosted a nutrition seminar, Steve G the host was asked a similar question. He suggested along with the other things mentioned above to avoid White bread (refined flour) it can cause you to feel bloated. |

| Buy the powered Gatorade at the grocery store..much cheaper. You can get a can that makes up to 8litres. Just add 1 scoop of powder to like 500 ml of water. They have lime, orange, and fruit punch. |

Gatorade's not bad but, for hydration during class I use E-Load endurance or heat endurance formula. I also use this during any long runs and find it does make a difference. Also it's not as strong a flavour as Gatorade and also not so sugary so it's easier on the stomach. It also comes in powdered form and although a container costs more than a Gatorade container it delivers more litres. Most of the health food stores around Burlington carry it as well as the Running Room and usually they also have little single serve packets that you can buy to sample flavours.
Hope this helps

Your BAMA T-shirt, Rash Guard or Hoodie is your membership card. Where it when you go to purchase your item and you can claim your discount.
